The Bangalore Detectives Club is a historical mystery novel by Harini Nagendra. The book is set in 1920s Bangalore, India. The story follows Kaveri, a 19-year-old newlywed, who stumbles upon a murder while dining with her husband at the posh Century Club. Kaveri, a fan of detective fiction, decides to investigate the murder herself. She uses her logical brain, talent for mathematics, and the medical expertise of her husband to solve the case.
Kaveri becomes determined to save a vulnerable woman connected to the crime. She launches a private investigation to find the killer, tracing his steps from an illustrious brothel to an Englishman's mansion.
Kaveri's character is a sari-wearing, coffee-drinking lady sleuth who also loves to cook for her husband. She breaks stereotypes and transgresses class and caste barriers with elan.
