The Sittaford Mystery is a 1931 non-series mystery novel by Agatha Christie. It is also known as The Murder at Hazelmoor. The story is about a murder in a snowed-in English village.
The story begins in a remote hamlet on Dartmoor, where a group of neighbors decide to hold a séance. During the séance, a spirit announces that Captain Joseph Trevelyan, who lives six miles away at Exhampton, has just been murdered. Emily Trefusis, the fiancé of Captain Trevelyan's nephew, James Pearson, takes on an unofficial investigation to clear her fiancé's name.
