The Mousetrap is a play by Agatha Christie about seven strangers who are snowed in at a remote countryside guesthouse during a blizzard. A police sergeant arrives and tells the guests that a murderer is among them. Each guest has a secret and fits the murderer's description.
The play opens with a radio account of a woman murdered in London. The action begins on the first day of business at the newly established bed and breakfast, Monkswell Manor, outside London. The first guest to arrive is Christopher Wren.
The play's themes are insanity and revenge.
