The Curse of the Pharaohs is a Victorian-era mystery by Elizabeth Peters. It's the second book in the Amelia Peabody series.
In 1892, Egyptologist Amelia Peabody and her husband, Radcliffe Emerson, have settled down in England after their adventures in Egypt. They long to return to Egypt to continue their excavations.
Amelia and Emerson leave their son, Ramses, with his aunt and uncle and head for Egypt. They begin excavating the pharaoh's tomb. However, there are more deaths and attacks, often accompanied by sightings of a mysterious woman dressed in white.
Amelia and Emerson must catch a murderer at the excavation.
