Teager : Life on Chincoteague & Assateague Islands is the story of these unique barrier islands, located along the mid-Atlantic coast, in the states of Virginia and Maryland. Having been born on Chincoteague Island, Charles N. Showard is proud to call himself a Teager. His first hand accounts of growing up on these islands and his interviews with others who have made this area their home, gives the reader a vision into a part of the country that is still inhabited by people who can appreciate a quieter lifestyle.

His story is illustrated with old photographs, some dating back one hundred years, family photographs and images loaned by others to the project. In addition, current day Chincoteague and Assateague are brought to life and color through the photographic images of lifelong Del-Mar-Va resident and photographer, Kevin N. Moore.
