Towards Zero is a 1944 detective fiction novel by Agatha Christie. The novel is about the murder of an elderly widow at a clifftop seaside house. The story follows Superintendent Battle and his nephew Inspector James Leach as they try to solve the murder.
The story starts when a house party gathers at Gull's Point, the seaside home of Lady Tressilian. Neville Strange finds himself caught between his old wife Audrey and his new flame Kay. Audrey is on the verge of facing the court, having become a suspect for the murder. All evidence points to her, and there is little doubt about her being guilty to anyone but Superintendent Battle.
The novel is the last novel of which featured Superintendent Battle, and the only novel with Battle as the sole main protagonist. Christie adapted the novel into a play on two separate occasions.
